Mark
Occhilupo
Australian icon and 1999 world champ. His aggressive combos and fearless tube rides made him a favorite among fans. Still widely referred to as Occy in surfing lore.
Biography
The term icon is often overused, but with Mark “Occy” Occhilupo, aka the Raging Bull, you could never use it enough. Since his early youth in New South Wales, Occy was a goofy-footed prodigy quickly becoming a household name in the sport. Having been with Billabong since early on in his career, Occy found his calling through competition, displaying a deadly forehand rail game and an equally lethal backhand attack. With countless insane performances at Bells, J-Bay and beyond, and a World Title won in 1999, Occy has done it all. Occy’s personality is just as unique as his surfing. He’ll have you lying on the ground laughing uncontrollably for minutes on end, while still having more wisdom and knowledge to share than most people on earth. A surfer and father who grabs life by the horns, Mark Occhilupo is without a doubt one of the biggest surf icons of all time.
